What started as a one-day festival with six bands in 2002 turned into an internationally acclaimed two-day festival regarding everything Doom Metal. Meanwhile we heave reached the tenth edition and that means we have to do something extra. It’s the tenth time Baroeg offers a stage to both renowned as well as up and coming bands within Doom Metal.

This tenth edition needed a different approach that resulted in adding an extra day and fewer bands on the other two days to give the bands room to perform a bit longer. Dutch Doom Days X this year consists of three days filled with classic styled doom, death/doom, proto doom, stoner doom and funeral doom. Next to some familiar names the organization presents a couple of newer bands that often debut in the Netherlands. This has always been an important factor to present new bands next to the variety of styles for the organization. This worked out fine again on this tenth edition. With a total of 15 bands on November 11, 12 and 13 Baroeg is the place to be for fans of crushingly heavy sounds that slowly finds its way to the core.

Wat in 2002 begon als een eendaags festival met zes bands is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een internationaal vermaard tweedaags festival waarbij het allemaal draait om Doom Metal. Inmiddels zijn we aanbeland bij de tiende editie en daarbij pakken we groots uit. Voor de tiende keer biedt Baroeg een podium aan gearriveerde en opkomende bands die je kunt scharen onder de noemer Doom Metal.

Deze tiende editie vraagt om een iets andere aanpak die we vorm hebben gegeven door een extra dag aan het programma te plakken en op de overige twee dagen wat minder bands die dan wel langer kunnen optreden. Dutch Doom Days X bestaat dus uit drie dagen gevuld met op klassieke leest geschoeide doom, death/doom, proto doom, stoner doom en funeral doom. Naast gevestigde namen presenteert de organisatie ook een groot aantal nieuwere bands die vaak voor het eerst in Nederland op een podium staan. Dit is altijd een belangrijke factor geweest voor de organisatie om naast de variatie in stijlen ook nieuwe bands te presenteren. Op deze tiende editie is dat weer prima gelukt. Met vijftien bands op 11, 12 en 13 november is Baroeg ‘the place to be’ voor liefhebbers van loodzware klanken die tergend langzaam door merg en been gaan.
