Korpiklaanifolk metal
Korpiklaani 2010-020456.jpg

Many Baroeg visitors will remember the (sold out) Korpiklaani gig in 2007. This folk metal band from Finland realised a smashing concert and made us all dance and sing along. Nowadays Korpiklaani is way too big for our venue, so we're very happy to have them on stage at Baroeg Open Air.

The Gatheringatmospheric rock / alternative
The Gathering.jpg

The Gathering was founded in 1989 as a doom/death metal band. In 1992 they released the amazing 'Always' album. Soon the band develops to an atmospheric rock band, especially when Anneke van Giersbergen joined the band a few years later.

Sinisterdeath metal

When we talk about classic death metal albums, we cannot ignore 'Cross The Styx' and 'Diabolical Summoning' by the (originally) Rotterdam band Sinister. In the early 90's the band managed to put death metal on the map, together with Pestilence and Gorefest. Bandleader and fellow founder Aad Kloosterwaard started as a drummer, but in 2005 he decides to go for the vocals.

Born From Painmetalcore
Born From Pain.jpg

In the past, Born From Pain was sometimes called the 'Dutch Hatebreed', but we think they're way better than that. The band worked their way up in Europe (and further) with some great albums. They also have a fantastic live reputation, as proven over the past 15 years, all over the world on every important stage in venues and on festivals.

Vanderbuysthardrock
Vanderbuyst.jpg

Things went pretty fast for the relatively young hardrock trio Vanderbuyst from Brabant. After the release of their untitled debut album, which was unanimously well received by the press, things started rolling for Vanderbuyst. Not only did they play all important venues and festivals in the Netherlands, they also smashed many stages throughout Europe.

Mark Foggo's Skastersskapunk
Mark Foggo.jpg

Ska Legend Mark Foggo, originally hailing from the UK, is musically active for quite a few years when he decides to move to The Netherlands in the late 70's. In our little country he soon raises the band 'Mark Foggo & The Secret Meeting', with which he releases one album. After several line-up changes and two album releases under his own name, Foggo collects a new group of musicians in 1987.

Skull Fistheavy metal
Skull Fist 3.jpg

We think it's a good thing that there's a true revival of styles such as hardrock, heavy metal and thrash metal. Not only do we see a lot of cool reunions, there are also some great new bands. One of them is Canadian band Skull Fist. These four guys play true heavy metal like in the old days.

Candybar Planetstoner
Candybar Planet.jpg

Candybar Planet is founded in 1994 in Eindhoven and together with the band '35007' they are the true founders of the famous 'Eindhoven Rockcity' scene, later to be expanded with 7Zuma7, Peter Pan Speedrock and The Spades. The band soon makes name with their uncomprimising groovy stonerrock with catchy vocals.
